The following pictures were taken with longer exposures to show the Moon illuminated by the faint light passing through the Earth's atmosphere.


Above: the Moon just before the start of totality.





Equipment used

The pictures were taken using a Pentax Ist DS digital SLR camera at the prime focus of a 102mm diameter f/5.0 Celestron wide-field refractor. Most of the early pictures of the partial phases were taken with 1/1000th-second exposures
